Shelly Beach Running Cub welcomes runners of all types and abilities. Our objective is to support members in their running interests as we all enjoy running. Our club has a great reputation for fun, fellowship and mutual support.
The run club is about, learning to run, with other likeminded people that have the same goals in mind.
Start small steps, with a goal to run, with better technique and form, increase the distance you run, progressing to run further each week, from novice to advance athletes, everybody is managed and assessed on their own ability and is able to perform at their own level and pace.
You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement- Steve Prefontaine
We have a special Programme for school children and little athletics members, wanting to run for the school or get back into condition for the upcoming winter sports season, who are interested in starting or continuing running. The results achieved by some of the Juniors are exceptional; and have a separate sprint and run squad on a Sunday, where we concentrate on sprint development, to middle and long distance training, this is by appointment only as there is limited spaces available
